Cedar Peaks started when

Dianne and Mark were successful Real Estate agents back a few years ago. They decided maybe there was a different way to live life. Maybe they could enjoy being in the Real Estate world in a different way that still helped people achieve their home buying goals.

They were sitting out on their back deck, looking at the mountains and they saw….

Mark Pullin—Broker of Record

Mark was born and raised in Calgary.  His entrepreneurial spirit struck early as he bought a Pizza restaurant when he was only 18 years old!  That acquisition brought him face to face with the dedication and hard work required as an owner.  He quickly embraced how critical it is to build a customer base through service and loyalty.

Mark then continued his career path for almost a decade by joining First Calgary Credit Union.  Real Estate then piqued his interest and through 15 years, garnered a highly successful and respected career. He had a portfolio of amazing clients that, because of his dedication, expanded to their friends and family members.

It was time again for another transition.  He knew of the Private Lending world and decided it was time to have a closer look.  He knew he had found what he was looking for through all the years.

He intuitively knew from past experience, the value of taking the time to create the framework to establish  loyal and long term relationships.  Mark is the “face” of Cedar Peaks as his ultimate dream is to have the ability to continue to do what he loves.

Mark has always received compliments on his dedication, and unless he is sitting and watching his favorite NFL football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers with his two puppies on his lap, Gazoo and Chiquita, his phone is by his side ready to take a call no matter where he is or when it is.

Dianne Pullin-Fixer of Record

Dianne Pullin—Fixer of Record

Dianne was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and later moved to Saskatoon.  Her plan was to become an Investigative Journalist however soon realized the level of censorship.  She then focused on building a career in Accounting and Finance. The accounting firms she worked with realized her desire to learn along with the ability to understand complex corporate structures and to identify issues that plagued them.

Because of this mentorship from leaders in Finance and International Taxation, she had garnered the experience to be offered the position of VP of Finance for a major Land Development company, which then progressed to Executive Finance Manager of a major Hotel Management group. It was time for a change, and that led her to California where she was the CEO of a Golf Course Residential development in Gold Rush Country. The total of all this experience allowed her deep insight into many types of business activities and where they fit in all levels of the lending world.

When she moved back to Canada, settled in Calgary then met Mark, the Cedar Peaks journey began.

Dianne is an optimist and thrives at unravelling challenges.  She is the “Strategic Mind” of Cedar Peaks.  She is constantly learning by reading, listening and digesting information (this is her “investigative” side) to culminate information for future direction.

She loves entertaining and orchestrating dinner parties, her ability in the kitchen is well known and everyone loves the opportunity to attend.

Steve Haggard—Manager of Investor Relations and Broker Services

Steve Haggard

Steve possesses a wealth of experience in Financial Management, Strategic Planning and Office Administration plus a highly engaging personality that is an amazing asset to our already fantastic team.  Steve’s skill sets are derived from a twenty-four-year career with the PGA of Canada that developed his business acumen at a Historic Private Golf Club, numerous Semiprivate Clubs as well as Premier Resort Facilities throughout British Columbia and Alberta.

Through many years of personal friendship and hours upon hours of candid conversations about the Mortgage Industry, it intrigued him to the point he left the Golf industry for a period to work with us.  An amazing opportunity arose for him to increase his management knowledge back in the Golf world and took a hiatus from Cedar Peaks.  We are ecstatic that he finally made the decision that the time was ripe to permanently make his career change.

Steve will be based out of our newly opened Cedar Peaks office in Invermere, BC as well as our office in Calgary as the Manager of Investor Relations and Broker Services. In this role, Steve is strategically aligned to ensure our investors are engaged and to manage the day-to-day relationships of Mortgage Brokers to promote the features, benefits and value of CP mortgage products.

His Professionalism and ability to quickly build trusting relationships with Brokers and Investors are a fantastic asset to Cedar Peaks – Welcome Steve!!

and we can’t forget -
The Great Gazoo and Ms Chiquita

These two munchkins are registered Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.  Both were born in Calgary at Dawnaquinn Kennels (Wendy Maisey - aka Gramma).  Gazoo’s Father is the renowned “We Take Berlin” (Berlin), and his Mama is “Chiquita Festival” our very own Chiquita!

Gazoo’s registered name is “Ready & Willing (Gazoo)” and was first to join the team in September 2019 when he was a little over 16 weeks old. He is known by a few names, depending of course, who he is interacting with.  Some of the nicknames are “Sir Licks A lot” and “Rebel”, you get the picture.  He lives life on the edge, just like Mark, always social, exploring and pushing the bar!

Chiquita will be 4 in August of this year and changed her career sights to Cedar Peaks in January 2020.  She is demure and the constant sweet “Little Girl”, unless Gazoo is trying to steal her food - yes we’ve seen a few head butts!  She is also known as “Ms. Banana”, “Princess”, and “Baby Girl”.  She has absolutely stolen our hearts - unless she’s barking or farting.

Owning a business has many ups and downs and these two really give us the balance we all need. Our pups mean the world to us, they make us take the time to laugh, play and go for walks.  They intuitively know when we have work stresses, the little angels shower us with so much love and so many kisses.
